skandium

A paradise for scandophiles in the UK, Skandium is a haven of good modern design. They are the exclusive agent in the UK for Asplund, iittala, Le Klint, Marimekko, Muuto, Pia Wallén and Woodnotes. Skandium is also the UK distributor for the lighting brand Louis Poulsen.
They’re in Marylebone High Street and Brompton, with a concession in Selfridges. We just love to visit every few weeks and buy something small to add to the collection.
Hooray for Skandium indeed.

beauty expert
A recent discovery – whilst trawling the net for something from Aesop I’d spied at my sister in-law’s I stumbled across BeautyExpert.co.uk. She had a luxurious citrus hand cream in my favourite of all favourite types of packaging – a metal tube. Damn do I love tubes of yummy things to make me smell and feel nice.

Beauty Expert has in stock the rather lush looking Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Balm with citrus extracts – and while I was there, deciding what I would buy I also found I rather liked the look of Ren’s Damask Rose Body Cream.
If you want to get 10% off until November 16th just use the voucher code “enov110″. And while you’re at their site make sure you check out their special offers page.
How utterly delicious.

Cath Kidston – new website
Cath Kidston fans will be pleased to visit the lovely new-look website at www.cathkidston.co.uk.

Very pretty and very Cath, all the favourites are of course still there, fabric by the metre; kids clothes and accessories; stationery; outdoor for wellies, umbrellas and pet beds; bags, wallets and keyrings in all our favourite vintage prints; and our favourite – home furnishings and wallpaper.
We just wish they’d hurry up and put some stuff in the clearance section!

h is for home
Brilliantly priced, h is for home is a lovely treasure of a shop – filled with carefully curated vintage pieces.

There’s an absolute tonne of stuff on their website, making for a most pleasant time shopping indeed. They’ve got fabric, curtains, phones, german pottery, more coffee tables than I could shake a stick at, the best orange phone ever and lots of brilliant kitchenalia, lamps and other essential things for the mid century modern home.

The people who run it look jolly nice too.
And so should they, it’s a jolly jolly nice shop indeed.
